BACAS accepts applications on a rolling basis and asks artists/scholars to propose a time period that they would like to be in residence in their application. We also send out periodic open-call emails.
Please fill out the form below to join the mailing list for open calls. We will immediately send you the general application form as a PDF (it may vary slightly by open call). All applications must be submitted electronically – no paper applications are accepted. When you submit this application, you must submit the application fee at the same time in order to be considered.
Applicants will be required to provide the following:
artists' statement, academic CV, or short bio with significant accomplishments listed
samples of past work (guidelines may differ)
a project proposal for a residency with BACAS
two current references.
a scan of current passport, valid for at least six months after the proposed stay.
A non-refundable $50 application fee must be paid by credit card on the website at time of submission.
Length of Stay
Residencies vary in length. The minimum stay is two weeks; the maximum stay is based on the approved length of individual project proposals.
